The original painting, "Remember My Spirit", has been donated to be auctioned off at "Memories in the Making 2012", in Fort Collins, Colorado. Proceeds to benefit the Alzheimer's Association.
The sweeping style background of this piece symbolizes the disease 'sweeping' the mind away over time. The flowers are a symbol of the beautiful spirit that will always remain despite this crippling disease. This piece was created in honor my loved one with joy and celebration of her spirit along with sorrow and heartache in watching the disease take her mind piece by piece. Hopefully one day very soon, we'll find a cure to prevent this from happening to anyone else and their loved ones.
